516 Project

Mission: 516 Project is a Christian-based 501(c)(3) non-profit construction ministry founded in 2016 and based in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The organization shares the love of Jesus with people in need by working with individuals, churches, and businesses to impact communities through service that glorifies God.

Primary Services:

Home Repairs & Handicap Access
* Constructs wheelchair ramps for accessibility
* Builds accessible bathrooms
* Performs various home repairs for those unable to afford them or who have physical barriers preventing them from doing repairs themselves
* Focuses on "Building Access to Hope" through these accessibility improvements

Disaster Relief
* Responds to natural disasters throughout the Southeastern United States
* Helps families and communities begin their recovery journey
* Services include clearing debris, removing hazardous trees, performing flood muckouts, tarping roofs, and rebuilding homes
* Has response teams based in Central Virginia and the Gulf Coast of Florida

Servings of Hope (Feeding Ministry)
* Provides hot meals to individuals and families in the community
* Offers encouragement and prayer alongside meals
* Partners with organizations like Stafford RISE to serve food-insecure populations
* Serves at residential hotels and other locations

Service Areas:

The ministry currently serves the Fredericksburg, Richmond, Northern Neck regions of Virginia, as well as the Panama City, Florida area, with plans to expand further. Their disaster relief efforts extend throughout the Southeastern United States.

Those in need of home repairs can apply through the organization's application process. The project committee reviews applications regularly and contacts applicants with updates. The organization operates entirely through volunteers, so response times may vary, and they cannot guarantee service for every application due to resource limitations.

Volunteer Opportunities:

The organization welcomes volunteers of all skill levels for construction tasks, home repairs, photography, home visits, material delivery, paperwork, letter writing, marketing, and other support roles. They offer regular "2nd Saturday Serve Days" and partner with local churches for community service projects.
