Lake of the Woods Lions Club

Mission: To serve the community through various charitable programs, including food assistance, medical equipment loans, and community grants.

Services:

• Wilderness Food Pantry: Provides food assistance to area families in need. The pantry is operated by the LOW Lions Club and LOW Lioness Lions Club and is located on Route 20 in Locust Grove behind the Locust Grove Town Center mall. The pantry serves as an equal opportunity provider and offers non-perishable food items, with restrictions on expired or best-by dates.
• Apply for Assistance: Residents can fill out a form to request food aid.
• Donations: Accepts donations of non-perishable food items, bulk perishable items, and retail store donations. Drop-off locations include the members lobby of the Holcomb Building, the Velona building during yard sales, or directly at the pantry during open hours.
• Financial Contributions: Cash donations can be sent via mail to the organization’s P.O. Box or through Paypal.
• Community Programs: Includes vision and hearing aid assistance, vision/hearing screenings, eye glass recycling, teacher grants, student scholarships, and medical equipment loans.

Eligibility:

Open to area families in need residing in Orange County, Virginia.

Program Details:

• The Wilderness Food Pantry operates on a schedule that varies monthly, with operations impacted by Orange County Schools closing due to inclement weather.
• The pantry is a registered 501(c)3 organization.
