Beautiful Brokenness Ministries

Mission: Beautiful Brokenness is a Jesus-centered, multi-denominational, 501(c)3 organization which exists to communicate the rescue, redemption, and reconciliation of man by God. The organization incorporates rescued horses as a tangible metaphor of The Shepherd's heart and is committed to demonstrating and teaching the believer's vital union and utter dependence upon Jesus as the only source of Life.

Location and Facilities:

In August 2024, Beautiful Brokenness moved their operations to Clark Equestrian in Louisa, Virginia. This facility allows the organization to expand their programs significantly and provides a gorgeous setting for their work.

Programs and Services:

Equine Assisted Discipleship (EAD): An experiential form of Equine Assisted Learning that incorporates horses, ponies, mules or donkeys in Bible-based, relational, healing programs to assist people in experiencing God's Abundant Life. Their rescued horses provide a powerful picture that allows participants to become deeply aware of God's perfect presence, provision and protection.

New Life Horsemanship: Their award-winning online Equine Assisted Discipleship course that won the 2023 Louisa County Impact Award. The New Life Horsemanship Academy is coming soon as an online platform.

In-Person Programs: Available for Virginia residents and neighboring states, offering demonstrations and group sessions with advance scheduling.

Team and Impact:

The team consists of founder Katy Pistole and a small group of passionate volunteers who provide safe, healing, transformative support to students and horses. The organization serves more than 250 individuals annually through various programs and materials. Beautiful Brokenness has been featured in multiple national publications and has won numerous awards.

Books and Materials:

Katy Pistole is a multi-published, award-winning author whose books reflect many of the concepts shared in their programs, including the Sonrise Farm series and Jubilee.

Volunteer Opportunities:

The organization welcomes volunteers who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of those they serve and actively seeks prayer warriors to support their ministry.

Special Events:

The organization celebrates their 15th Anniversary with special events, including an October 12th celebration.
