About This Service
Mission: To prepare students for college and career success through innovative, hands-on STEM and Career Technical Education (CTE) curriculum and programs.
Services:
- Curriculum development aligned with STEM and CTE standards for PreK-12.
- Professional development and training for teachers, including collaborative core training led by certified master teachers.
- Providing equipment, supplies, and technology for classroom implementation.
- Offering grants and funding opportunities for schools and educators.
- Supporting industry partnerships to keep curriculum relevant and at the cutting edge.
- Hosting events, recognizing achievements through awards, and sharing success stories.
- Providing resources like podcasts, blogs, and a school locator to aid schools and students.
Eligibility:
Educational institutions across various grade levels (PreK-12) interested in adopting STEM and CTE curricula, with specific access to equipment and funding opportunities provided by the organization.
Program Details:
PLTW provides a comprehensive suite of programs including;
- PLTW Launch for PreK-5
- PLTW Gateway for 6-8
- PLTW Algebra 1 Advantage for 6-12
- PLTW Computer Science for 9-12
- PLTW Engineering for 9-12
- PLTW Biomedical Science for 9-12
These programs focus on real-world problem-solving, industry collaboration, and experiential learning designed to develop both technical and soft skills such as critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. The curriculum encourages students to explore future careers through project-based learning that incorporates real-world applications and modern tools used in industry and healthcare settings.
