MENTOR Virginia

Mission: To serve as the catalyst for the expansion of youth mentoring across Virginia.

Services:

• Technical assistance and training for mentoring programs
• Capacity building for high-quality youth mentoring
• Ongoing support for new and established mentoring programs
• Collaboration with the National Mentoring Resource Center (NMRC) and National Quality Mentoring System (NQMS)
• Curriculum development and resource creation for mentors
• Peer networking opportunities, including Community Coffee Hours and Community of Practice Groups

Eligibility:

Open to mentoring programs, mentors, and program coordinators across Virginia interested in improving and expanding youth mentoring.

Program Details:

• Offers consulting services and training to mentoring organizations.
• Provides assessments of program alignment with national quality standards.
• Develops curricula and resource materials for mentor training.
• Facilitates peer discussion groups and networking events.
• Engages with local organizations and individuals interested in mentoring.

Additional Information:

• Engages in monthly Community Coffee Hours for peer-to-peer discussion.
• Hosts topic-based discussions on relevant mentoring issues.
• Collaborates with various mentoring initiatives to promote mentorship quality and growth.
• Supports youth ages 5-24 through mentoring program enhancement.
• Part of the national MENTOR network, with a focus on Virginia-specific needs.
