SUN Meals

Mission:
SUN Meals aims to ensure that Virginia's school-age children have access to nutritious meals during the summer months when school is not in session.

Services Provided:

• Free Summer Meals: Meals are served at various locations such as schools, parks, community centers, and other eligible community sites.
• No Identification Required: Meals are provided free of charge and do not require proof of identification.
• Enrichment Activities: Many meal locations offer enrichment activities to support children's healthy growth and development.
• Meal Delivery and To-Go Options: In rural areas, meal delivery or pick-up options (SUN Meals To-Go) are available, allowing children to access meals through pick-up or home delivery programs.

• School-age children throughout Virginia, including those residing in Louisa County and surrounding rural communities.

Eligibility Requirements:

• There are no specific eligibility requirements; all school-age children are eligible.
• No proof of identification is required to receive meals.

How to Access Services:

• To find a summer meals location, individuals can text "FOOD" or "COMIDA" to 304-304 or use the Summer Meals for Kids Site Finder.
• Local school divisions may also provide information about meal locations and programs.
