Nutrition and Congregate Meals at 700 North 26th Street

Mission:
To provide daily nutrition services and hot meals to seniors, supporting their health and well-being.

Services Provided

• Congregate Meals: A nutritious noon meal is served Monday through Friday at the Senior Center. These meals are designed to meet the dietary needs of older adults and promote social engagement.
• Nutrition Education: Periodic nutrition educational seminars are offered to help participants make informed dietary choices and maintain healthy lifestyles.
• Home-Delivered Meals: For members who qualify, home-delivered meals can be arranged, ensuring that those unable to attend in person still receive nutritious food.
• Transportation: Transportation to the meal site may be available, increasing accessibility for seniors with mobility or transportation challenges.

Eligibility & Fees

• Services are primarily intended for seniors. A non-resident fee applies for individuals residing outside the City of Richmond.
• Home-delivered meals are available to qualifying members; eligibility requirements may apply.

Service Area

• While the program is based in Richmond, it is accessible to seniors from surrounding areas, including those from Louisa County, though non-residents may incur a fee.

Additional Information

• Meals are provided by Senior Connections, which accepts donations to support and expand services for the elderly.
