About This Service
Mission: Circle Center Adult Day Services is dedicated to providing affordable and reliable adult day care for older adults who are frail or functionally impaired, with a focus on enhancing quality of life and supporting caregivers.
Services Provided:
- Specialized Care: Expertise in Alzheimer's and other dementias, Parkinson's disease, stroke, hypertension, COPD, diabetes, heart disease, and post-skilled nursing home care.
- Personal Care Assistance: Support with feeding, hygiene, and showers.
- Nutrition: Provision of breakfast, lunch, and two snacks daily, with accommodations for special diets and tube feedings.
- Nursing Services: On-site nursing care and coordination with families and physicians.
- Therapeutic Activities: Includes arts, crafts, discussion groups, entertainment, exercise, gardening, games, participant support groups, and the MEMORY LANE Montessori-based activity program for dementia. Optional spiritual programs are also available.
- Educational Seminars: Regular seminars for caregivers to provide education and support.
- Security: Facility equipped with door alarms and a building-wide sprinkler system for safety.
- Socialization: Opportunities for participants to interact with peers, engage in cognitive and physical activities, and develop new friendships.
- On-site Therapy: Occupational, physical, and speech therapy available.
- Transportation Coordination: Assistance with arranging transportation to and from the center.
- Family and Caregiver Support: Respite for caregivers and individualized, flexible care plans for each participant.
Staff & Capacity:
- Staff-to-participant ratio of 1:6 or better, with a capacity of 130 participants.
- Multidisciplinary team includes registered nurses, gerontologists, social workers, occupational therapists, certified activity directors, nursing assistants, adult day health care aides, activity aides, and an exercise and nutrition specialist.
- Some staff are Spanish-speaking.
Eligibility & Service Area:
- Serves older adults who are frail or functionally impaired, including those with chronic health conditions or recovering from skilled nursing care.
- Open to individuals in Richmond and surrounding areas, including those from Louisa County and neighboring regions who can access the center.
