About This Service

Mission:
James House is an accredited nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals affected by sexual violence, domestic violence, and stalking in the Greater Tri-Cities Region of Virginia.

Service Area:

  • Cities: Colonial Heights, Hopewell, Petersburg
  • Counties: Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Prince George, Surry, Sussex
  • Includes Fort Gregg-Adams

Services Provided:

  • 24/7 Hotline: Immediate, confidential crisis support available at all times.
  • Support Groups: Facilitated peer support for survivors of sexual and domestic violence.
  • Emergency Shelter: Safe, confidential shelter for individuals and families escaping violence.
  • Children's Programs: Specialized services and support for children impacted by violence.
  • Case Management: Ongoing assistance with safety planning, accessing resources, and navigating systems.
  • Resource Referrals: Connections to additional community resources as needed.

  • James House accepts in-season, gently used clothing donations for men, women, and children. Donation drop-offs are scheduled and accepted during specific hours.
