Northside RVA Food Pantry at Ginter Park United Methodist Church

Overview:
The Northside RVA Food Pantry, located at Ginter Park United Methodist Church, is one of three USDA-supported food pantries serving Richmond’s Northside. The pantry provides free food to community members through a walk-up and drive-through distribution model.

Services Provided:

• Weekly Food Distribution:
• Free groceries are distributed every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
• The pantry serves an average of 140–180 families per week.
• Food is sourced through federal support from FeedMore, donations from Shalom Farms, and contributions from the local community.
• Clothing Closet:
• A clothing closet is available during food pantry hours, offering clothing to those in need.
• Donation Opportunities:
• The pantry accepts non-perishable food items such as canned fruits, vegetables, beans, meats, peanut butter, oatmeal packets, cereals, stews, ravioli, soups, pasta, and rice.
• Paper and plastic bags with handles are also welcomed for food distribution.

Eligibility & Access:

• The pantry is open to all community members in need; there are no stated eligibility restrictions.
• Walk-up and drive-through options are available for accessibility.

Service Area:

• While located in Richmond, the pantry is accessible to residents from surrounding counties, including Louisa County.

Additional Information:

• Food donations can be dropped off at the church’s Side Door (off the parking lot) or Memorial Garden Door (facing Laburnum) from 8 a.m. to noon, Monday through Thursday.
• For large donations or to arrange a drop-off outside regular hours, contact the organization to schedule a time.

Partnerships:

• The Northside RVA Food Pantry is part of a partnership with St. Paul’s Catholic Church and St. Thomas Episcopal Church, each offering food pantry services on different days of the week in the Northside area.
