Farmville Lions Club

Mission:
The Farmville Lions Club is dedicated to serving the Farmville area and surrounding communities through a focus on vision and hearing health, in alignment with the mission and vision of Lions Clubs International.

Services Provided:

• Vision Screenings and Exams: The club provides vision screenings, vision exams, and eyeglasses for school children and individuals referred by the Department of Social Services (DSS).
• Eyeglass Collection and Recycling: The organization collects and recycles used eyeglasses of all types, including prescription, non-prescription, reading, sunglasses, and especially children’s eyeglasses, to support those in need.
• Hearing Support: In coordination with DSS and the Longwood Speech, Hearing and Learning Clinic (LSHLC), the club offers hearing exams and auditory appliances for referred recipients.
• Support for Local Organizations: The Farmville Lions Club assists local organizations that provide support to individuals in need within the community.
• Support for the Blind: The club provides service projects and funding to assist Burkeville Lodge, Virginia’s only camp for the blind.

Fundraising Activities:

• Annual Golf Tournament: The Louis Bridgforth Golf Tournament is a major fundraising event supporting the club’s charitable activities.
• Broom Sales: Seasonal broom sales are conducted to raise additional funds for service projects.

• Individuals in need of vision and hearing assistance, including children and adults.
