Stone Mountain Health Services is dedicated to providing quality primary health care that is accessible, affordable, and community-based for the people of Southwest Virginia.

Overview

Stone Mountain Health Services is a nonprofit, private group health clinic network that has served the region since 1976. The organization operates 12 clinics throughout Southwestern Virginia, offering a comprehensive range of medical and behavioral health services. The clinics are staffed by well-qualified, caring professionals who prioritize patient health and are deeply rooted in the communities they serve. The board of directors is composed of individuals who reside and work within each community, ensuring local representation and responsiveness.

Services Provided

• Primary Health Care: Comprehensive medical care for all ages, including preventive care and management of chronic conditions.
• Behavioral Health Services: Mental health support and counseling.
• Dental Care: Dental services are available at select locations.
• Respiratory Care Services: Specialized care for respiratory conditions, including a Black Lung Program for individuals affected by black lung disease.

Accessibility & Affordability

• Sliding Fee Discount: Available to all eligible patients, based on income and family size.
• Insurance Acceptance: Accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and other public/private assistance programs or health insurance.
• No Denial of Service: No patient is denied service due to inability to pay.

Stone Mountain Health Services serves the entire Southwestern Virginia region, making its services accessible to residents of Louisa County and surrounding areas who are able to travel to its clinics.

Emergency Care

• Clinics are available for emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. After-hours emergency instructions are provided by calling the clinic number.

Eligibility

• Services are open to all residents of Southwestern Virginia, with financial assistance available for those who qualify based on income and family size.

Additional Information

• The organization receives HHS funding and has Federal Public Health Services (PHS) deemed status for certain health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims for itself and its covered individuals.
