Mission:
Eastern Shore Area Agency on Aging/Community Action Agency (ESAAA/CAA) is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive, high-quality human services to individuals and families at all stages of life. The agency is governed by an 18-member Board of Directors and has served the community since 1973.

Service Areas:

• Primarily serves residents of Accomack and Northampton Counties, Virginia.

Programs & Services:

• Care Coordination:
• Assists individuals aged 60 and older to remain independent as long as possible.
• Provides information, referrals, comprehensive assessments, and coordination/monitoring of available services.
• Head Start:
• Federally funded program for preschool children from low-income families.
• Focuses on school readiness and child development.
• Offers services such as training, counseling, speech therapy, and referrals to emergency and employment services.
• Nursing Home Diversion Community Re-entry:
• Supports nursing home residents who wish to return to the community after residing in a facility for six months or longer.
• Project Discovery/Horizons:
• Targets low-income and minority students in grades 7-12.
• Provides exposure to post-high school options and supports first-generation college-bound students.
• Involves collaboration with individuals, institutions, and organizations to enrich student experiences.
