Community Fridge W 27th Street
About This Service
This community fridge promotes safe and respectful sharing of food donations. All donations should be labeled with all ingredients, packaging date, expiration date, and any potential allergens, which may include dairy, eggs, fish, shellfish, wheat/gluten, soy, and tree nuts. Fresh produce, pantry items, and general refrigerator materials are welcomed. If an item does not fit, please do not leave it outside the fridge, as this creates waste; consider donating elsewhere instead.
For prepared meals, follow the same labeling and allergen guidelines. Always wear gloves and masks when preparing food, and label homemade dishes with the cooking or packaging date. Homemade meals are generally expected to be consumed within 3-4 days from the date of packaging.
Items that are not allowed include raw meat or fish, alcohol, unlabeled prepared meals, expired or moldy foods, and opened or partially eaten packages.
Pantry donations must be labeled with all ingredients, date of packaging, expiration date, and potential allergens. Only homemade non-perishable and dry foods are accepted. No alcohol or unlabeled prepared meals are permitted in the pantry.
Please do not leave items that need refrigeration in the pantry. This ensures proper storage and safety for all users.
