Community Fridge W Cary St

Food Bank Last updated: May 09, 2025

About This Service

This community fridge relies on donations from residents to serve those in need. Please ensure all items are properly labeled with ingredients, packaging date, expiration date, and potential allergens such as dairy, eggs, fish, shellfish, wheat/gluten, soy, and tree nuts. Fresh produce, pantry items, and general refrigerator supplies are welcome. To reduce waste, do not leave items outside the fridge if they do not fit; instead, consider donating elsewhere.

For prepared meals, adherence to labeling and allergen information is essential. Wear gloves and masks when preparing food, and label homemade dishes with the preparation date. Typically, homemade meals should be consumed within 3-4 days of packaging.

Prohibited items include raw meat or fish, alcohol, unlabeled prepared foods, expired or moldy items, and partially eaten or open packages.

Pantry donations should also follow labeling requirements, with only homemade non-perishable and dry foods accepted. No alcohol or unlabeled prepared meals are permitted in the pantry.

Together, we can ensure the community fridge stays safe, welcoming, and helpful for everyone.
