House of Mercy

Mission:
House of Mercy is a Catholic-based 501(c)(3) humanitarian organization dedicated to serving the hungry and anyone in need of solace and care in Northern Virginia.

Services Provided:

• Food Assistance: Operates a food pantry providing groceries to individuals and families in need. No appointment is required; walk-ins are welcome during operating hours.
• Clothing and Shoes: Offers free and low-cost clothing and shoes to those in need.
• Mentoring and Training: Provides life and financial mentoring, as well as job search training to help clients achieve greater stability and self-sufficiency.
• Spiritual Care: Offers spiritual support and care for those seeking solace.
• Referrals: Connects clients to additional resources and services as needed.
• Volunteer Opportunities: Welcomes volunteers, including those needing community service hours. Bilingual volunteers are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Identification: ID is required for each family member (for children, any document with their birthdate is accepted).
• Proof of Address: Required for the family. Homeless applicants can explain their situation at intake.

Service Area:

• Primarily serves Prince William County and the broader Northern Virginia region. There is no explicit restriction against serving residents from other areas, making the services accessible to those in need from surrounding counties, including Louisa County, if they can travel to the location.

• House of Mercy partners with Prince William Food Rescue for emergency food deliveries.
