Next Gen Personal Finance (NGPF)

Mission:
NGPF is dedicated to ensuring that every U.S. high school student graduates having taken at least a one-semester course in personal finance by 2030. The organization began in 2014 and has since grown into a national leader in financial education advocacy and curriculum development.

Curriculum & Educational Resources

• NGPF offers a comprehensive, no-cost curriculum covering 11 core units, including Investing, Taxes, Saving, Behavioral Economics, Paying for College, Banking, Budgeting, Career, Consumer Skills, Insurance, and Credit.
• Courses are available for both high school and middle school students, including Trimester, Semester, and Full-Year options, as well as a Financial Algebra course.
• All resources are designed to be hands-on and use real-world applications to build student financial capability.
• Additional resources include current event videos and quizzes (Fincap Friday), a Personal Finance Dictionary, Spanish & ELL resources, and a video library.

Professional Development for Educators

• NGPF provides free professional development (PD) for teachers, including virtual workshops, on-demand modules, certification courses, and in-person FinCamps.
• The NGPF Academy recognizes and rewards educators for their participation in PD, with over 17,000 teachers having participated to date.
• PD focuses on building teacher content knowledge, modeling curriculum resources, and fostering collaboration among educators.

Advocacy & Community Engagement

• NGPF actively advocates for increased access to financial education by partnering with teachers, schools, districts, and states.
• The organization provides advocacy toolkits, annual State of Financial Education reports, and documentary films to support local and state efforts.
• NGPF Mission 2030 Fund works to advance personal finance education policy in state legislatures.
• The organization supports a large educator community, including the FinLit Fanatics group for collaboration and resource sharing.

Impact & Reach

• NGPF's resources are used by over 100,000 teachers nationwide, with 85% of U.S. high school students attending a school with at least one teacher with an NGPF account.
• The curriculum and PD are accessible to educators and students in Louisa County, VA, and surrounding regions, as all materials are available online at no cost.

Eligibility & Access

• All resources and professional development opportunities are free and available to educators and schools across the United States, including those in Louisa County and neighboring areas.
• Teachers must register for a free account to access certain materials, such as assessments and answer keys.
