Administration for Community Living (ACL)

Mission:
The Administration for Community Living (ACL) is a federal agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services dedicated to maximizing the independence, well-being, and health of older adults, people with disabilities across the lifespan, and their families and caregivers.

Services and Programs:

ACL administers a wide range of national programs and initiatives, including:

• Aging and Disability Resource Centers (ADRCs): Connecting individuals to long-term services and supports in their communities.

• Elder Abuse Prevention and Elder Justice Initiatives: Protecting seniors from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
• Legal Assistance and Long-Term Care Ombudsman: Ensuring access to legal services and advocacy for residents of long-term care facilities.
• Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Self-Management: Programs to improve health outcomes for seniors and people with disabilities.

Who They Serve:

ACL serves older adults, people with disabilities of all ages, and their families and caregivers throughout the United States, including residents of Louisa County, VA and surrounding regions.

Eligibility:
