Mission: Cancer Support Community is dedicated to uplifting and strengthening people impacted by cancer by providing free support, education, and hope. The organization aims to ensure that no one faces cancer alone, offering a comprehensive suite of services for patients, survivors, caregivers, and loved ones.

Services Provided

  • Cancer Support Helpline: Offers live, toll-free support from trained professionals for anyone affected by cancer. The helpline provides guidance, resources, and emotional support in both English and Spanish.
  • Local CSC/Gilda's Club Support Centers: Access to in-person support groups, educational workshops, and wellness activities at various locations nationwide.
  • MyLifeLine Online Community: A secure online platform for individuals impacted by cancer to connect, share experiences, and access resources.
  • Educational Resources: Extensive information on coping with cancer, exploring cancer types, navigating the healthcare system, making treatment decisions, and understanding clinical trials. Educational materials are available for order and online access.
  • Virtual Programs: Online workshops, healthy recipes, and events designed to support physical and emotional well-being during and after cancer treatment.
  • Advocacy and Research: Engages in policy advocacy and research initiatives to improve the quality of life for people affected by cancer, including the Cancer Experience Registry and various publications.

Eligibility & Service Area

  • Services are available to anyone affected by cancer, regardless of location. Louisa County, VA residents and those in surrounding regions can access all online and helpline services, as well as local support centers where available.
