About This Service

Mission:
Reading Partners is dedicated to advancing educational equity by providing high-impact, individualized literacy tutoring to students who are behind grade level in reading. The organization leverages a research-backed curriculum rooted in the science of reading, with a focus on phonics and mastery of foundational literacy skills.

Services and Programs:

  • Direct Tutoring:
  • One-on-one, high-dosage tutoring sessions (twice weekly) for students in kindergarten through fourth grade who are six months to 2.5 years behind grade level in reading.
  • Both in-person and online tutoring formats are available, utilizing trained community volunteers.
  • Access to a comprehensive book series and the "Take Reading With You" program.
  • On-site program management and continuous progress monitoring to ensure student growth.
  • Add-on services include summer tutoring and family engagement/training opportunities.

Eligibility and Service Area:

  • Students must be in kindergarten through fourth grade, 6 months to 2.5 years behind grade level in reading, and attend a partner school or community organization.
  • The organization operates reading centers and partners with schools and community organizations across multiple regions. Louisa County, VA residents may access services if their school or community organization is a Reading Partners partner.
