Mission:
The National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) is dedicated to providing comprehensive resources, information, and support to address and prevent sexual violence. NSVRC serves as a national hub for information, research, and best practices related to sexual assault, abuse, and harassment.

Services and Resources:

• Resource Library: Offers a wide range of publications, research digests, and educational materials for survivors, advocates, educators, and the general public.
• Information and Referral: While NSVRC does not provide direct counseling or crisis intervention, the organization refers individuals seeking support to partner organizations and service providers at local, state, and national levels.
• Support for Survivors: Provides detailed information on what to do after sexual assault, safety and prevention strategies, and guidance for friends and family members supporting survivors.
• Advocacy and Education: Develops toolkits, prevention resources, and training materials for advocates and educators, including specialized resources for working with male survivors and evaluation toolkits.
• Media and Public Awareness: Offers expertise and context for journalists reporting on sexual violence, including statistics, survivor reactions, trauma-informed care, and prevention strategies.
• Sexual Assault Response Teams (SARTs): Supports the development and effectiveness of multidisciplinary teams responding to sexual assault.
• National Sexual Assault Conference (NSAC): Hosts an annual conference to advance knowledge, collaboration, and innovation in the field of sexual violence prevention and response.

Who They Serve:

NSVRC serves survivors of sexual violence, their friends and families, advocates, educators, media professionals, and organizations nationwide, including those in Louisa County, VA and surrounding regions.
