Mission:
The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Department of Virginia is dedicated to supporting veterans, active military service members, and their families throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia, including Louisa County and surrounding regions.

Services and Programs:

• Veteran Benefits & Assistance:
• Provides trained personnel to assist veterans in navigating the complexities of VA benefits and claims.
• Offers guidance and support for accessing federal and state veteran resources.
• Veterans and Military Support Services:
• Delivers a range of support services for veterans, active duty personnel, and their families, including advocacy and outreach.
• Community Recognition and Youth Programs:
• Organizes programs such as Patriot's Pen, Voice of Democracy, Teacher of the Year, Scout of the Year, and JROTC awards to recognize youth and educators for their contributions and achievements.
• Membership and Community Engagement:
• Welcomes eligible veterans and current military service members from all major conflicts (WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, Persian Gulf War, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq, War on Global Terror, and other peacekeeping campaigns) to join and participate in VFW activities.
• Auxiliary and Volunteer Opportunities:
• Offers opportunities for family members and supporters to engage through the VFW Auxiliary and other committees.
• Virginia Veterans Foundation:
• The official 501(c)3 foundation supports VFW programs and operations, focusing on the welfare of veterans and their families.
