Richmond Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA)

Mission & Overview:
Richmond Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA) is a public entity licensed by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services. RBHA is responsible for providing a comprehensive range of behavioral health, intellectual disabilities, substance use, and prevention services. While its primary service area is the City of Richmond, RBHA also serves as the fiscal and administrative agent for programs that support all seven Community Services Boards (CSBs) in Central Virginia's Region 4, which includes Goochland and Hanover counties—areas accessible to Louisa County residents.

Regional Impact:

RBHA administers and coordinates programs that serve Region 4, which includes Chesterfield, Crossroads (Farmville area), District 19 (Petersburg area), Goochland-Powhatan, Hanover, Henrico Area, and RBHA itself. These regional programs address critical behavioral health and developmental needs and are accessible to residents of Louisa County through regional partnerships.

• Services are available to individuals and families, including those without Medicaid, insurance, or other means of payment.
• RBHA collaborates with community agencies and provides services in various settings, including homes, schools, and correctional facilities.
• Programs are designed to meet the needs of both adults and children with mental health, substance use, and developmental challenges.
