Mission:
Patient Advocate Foundation (PAF) is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing case management services and financial aid to Americans facing chronic, life-threatening, and debilitating illnesses.

Who They Serve

• Individuals across the United States, including residents of Louisa County, VA and surrounding regions, who are experiencing significant health challenges.
• Patients with over 958 distinct diagnoses were served in 2023, indicating broad disease coverage.

Core Services

• Case Management: Professional case managers advocate and mediate on behalf of patients, helping them access therapies, therapeutic agents, and medical devices deemed medically necessary by the medical and scientific communities. Case managers also work to identify sources of reimbursement to pay for care.
• Co-Pay Relief Program: Financial assistance is provided to eligible patients to help cover the cost of insurance co-payments for prescription medications and treatments.
• Financial Aid Funds: Direct financial support is available for patients struggling with the costs associated with their medical care.
• Resource Navigation: Access to a National Financial Resource Directory, which helps patients locate additional support resources.
• Scholarships: Opportunities for patients to apply for educational scholarships.
• Patient Education: Resources such as disease-specific guides, insurance glossaries, and advocacy curricula are available to empower patients and families.

• PAF en Español: Services and resources are available in Spanish to ensure accessibility for diverse populations.
