Mission:
The Virginia Health Care Foundation (VHCF) is a public/private partnership dedicated to improving access to medical, dental, and mental health care for uninsured Virginians and those living in underserved communities across the Commonwealth, including Louisa County and surrounding regions.

Services and Programs:

  • Support for Safety Net Providers: VHCF provides grants and resources to free clinics, community health centers, and other nonprofit organizations, enabling them to expand the types and volume of care offered to patients.
  • Prescription Assistance: VHCF operates programs that help uninsured Virginians with chronic illnesses obtain free and discounted prescription medications.
  • Coverage Application Assistance: The foundation assists uninsured individuals in applying for medical, dental, and mental health coverage, including enrollment in state-sponsored health insurance programs.
  • Dental Safety Net Expansion: VHCF has provided significant funding to establish or expand dental safety net practices throughout Virginia.
