Mission:
Eden Village of Richmond is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to easing the burden of homelessness in the Richmond area and surrounding counties by providing permanent, dignified housing solutions for the chronically homeless and disabled.

Overview

Eden Village of Richmond is in the early stages of developing a 30–40-unit tiny home community, modeled after the successful Eden Village in Springfield, Missouri. The organization aims to create a supportive, affordable housing environment that fosters dignity, stability, and a sense of community for residents who have experienced long-term homelessness or have disabilities.

Services and Features

• Permanent Supportive Housing: Construction of a gated, pedestrian-only community of tiny homes for individuals who are chronically homeless and/or disabled.
• Community Center: The planned community will include a center with offices, a laundromat, kitchen and dining area for gatherings, a computer area with Wi-Fi, and a library.
• Affordable Rent: Residents will pay a minimal monthly rent that includes utilities, with the ability to stay as long as community rules are followed.
• Security and Dignity: The community will feature fingerprint entry and a secure, supportive environment.

Resident Selection and Eligibility

• Priority: Given to individuals who have been chronically homeless for at least one year and/or have a disability.
• Selection Process: Local homeless advocates who are in regular contact with the homeless population will assist in identifying and selecting residents.

Eden Village of Richmond serves the Richmond metropolitan area and is accessible to individuals from surrounding counties, including Louisa County, who meet the eligibility criteria for chronic homelessness or disability.

The organization was founded after recognizing the need for a permanent solution to homelessness, inspired by similar models across the country. Eden Village of Richmond is an entity of Eden Village of Richmond Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The organization is currently focused on fundraising, land acquisition, and community engagement to bring the project to fruition.
