About This Service

Mission:
HomeAgain Richmond is dedicated to assisting individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the Greater Richmond region to secure and maintain stable housing. The organization has been active for over 40 years, focusing on client-centered, housing-focused, and work-friendly approaches to ending homelessness.

Service Area and Population Served

HomeAgain serves men, women, children, seniors, and U.S. military veterans experiencing homelessness throughout the Greater Richmond area, which is accessible to residents of Louisa County and surrounding regions.

Core Programs and Services

  • Emergency Shelters:
  • Espigh Family Shelter: Provides crisis housing for up to 35 people, including single adult women and families with children. Services include shelter, case management, supportive services, rapid rehousing for qualifying families, a learning center for tutoring, and a children’s playroom for enrichment activities.
  • Men’s/Veterans Shelter: Houses 20 adult men, with 8 beds dedicated to veterans. Offers up to 90 days of crisis housing, case management, housing and job search assistance, workforce development, substance use prevention, and mental health support.

  • Community Housing Services:

  • Rapid Rehousing Program (RRH): Provides comprehensive case management, housing search assistance, and short-term rental assistance with leases in clients’ names.
  • Permanent Supportive Housing Program (PSH): Offers long-term housing assistance to families impacted by disabilities, with leases in HomeAgain’s name and clients as sub-lessors.

Impact

In 2024, HomeAgain served 499 individuals, with 72% successfully transitioning to permanent, stable housing. Annually, the organization assists over 400 households in regaining stability.

Eligibility is based on experiencing homelessness or being at risk of homelessness within the Greater Richmond region. Specific program requirements may apply, particularly for veterans and families impacted by disabilities.
