Services Offered
DPHS delivers a wide range of healthcare and supportive services through multiple locations and mobile outreach units in the Greater Richmond area. Services include:
- Integrated Care: Coordination of primary, behavioral, dental, and pharmacy services.
- Primary Health: Preventive care, chronic disease management, and walk-in medical care.
- Behavioral Health: Mental health and substance use disorder services, including Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).
- Dental Care: Comprehensive dental services for all ages.
- Pharmacy: On-site pharmacy services for patients.
- Case Management: Support for accessing healthcare, housing, and social services.
Special Programs
- Safe Haven: A program providing supportive housing and services for individuals experiencing homelessness.
- Medical Respite: Short-term residential care for homeless individuals recovering from illness or injury.
- Mobile Outreach: Two mobile units deliver healthcare directly to communities, focusing on individuals who are homeless, housing insecure, or living in public housing. Services include chronic disease treatment, preventive screenings, vaccinations, and case management. Patients must meet criteria for becoming a new DPHS patient.
- Ryan White Program: Services for individuals living with HIV.
- Free Birth Control: Access to contraceptive services.
Locations & Accessibility
DPHS operates several health centers in Richmond, including West Grace Health Center, Southside Health Center, East Cary Health Center, and partner sites in Henrico and Richmond. The organization also provides after-hours service with 24/7 coverage. Language assistance services are available at all health centers.

DPHS serves anyone in need, regardless of their financial, housing, citizenship, or insurance status. While based in Richmond, services are accessible to residents from surrounding counties, including Louisa County, especially through mobile outreach and regional programs.

Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm (West Grace Health Center, Southside Health Center, East Cary Health Center); Walk-in Medical Care: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm (511 W. Grace Street); After-hours service available, 24/7 coverage via main number.
