Mission: Mount Vernon Baptist Church exists to glorify God by bringing people to Jesus, fostering spiritual growth, and equipping individuals for service in the church, community, and world.

Services & Community Outreach

• Benevolence Ministry: Provides limited, short-term financial assistance for essential needs such as food, electricity, rent, and water to individuals in crisis, including both church members and community residents. Offers referrals to other organizations for long-term or larger needs.
• Feeding the Hungry: Partners with Richmond Friends of the Homeless to prepare and distribute meals to homeless and hungry individuals in Richmond three times a month.
• Food Pantry: Offers two nutritionally balanced bags of food each Saturday morning to community residents within a 15-mile radius, addressing food insecurity for local families.
• Missions Saturday: Organizes community service projects such as home renovations for the elderly, landscaping, supporting missionaries, and preparing materials for orphan ministries.
• Operation Christmas Child: Serves as a collection center and packs thousands of shoeboxes with gifts for children in need worldwide, partnering with Samaritan’s Purse.
• Saints Softball Prison Ministry: Engages in outreach to incarcerated individuals through sports ministry, sharing messages of hope and faith.
