ACES (Ashland Christian Emergency Services)

Mission: Ashland Christian Emergency Services (ACES) is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing emergency assistance and support to residents in need within the Ashland, Glen Allen, and Hanover areas of Hanover County, Virginia.

Services Provided:

• Emergency Financial Assistance:
• Help with payment for electricity, rent, medications, and utilities (requires cut-off or eviction notice; limits apply).
• Transient Aid:
• Emergency support in coordination with the Ashland Police Department.
• Medical Equipment Lending:
• Wheelchairs, potty chairs, crutches, walkers, and bath stools (when available).
• Senior Rides Program:
• Free transportation for seniors (60+) and individuals with frequent medical needs for appointments, grocery shopping, and personal business. Riders must be ambulatory.
• Clothing and Food Assistance:
• Distribution of gently used clothing and non-perishable food and toiletry items to those in need.

Eligibility:
- Services are available to Hanover County residents living in zip codes 23005, 23059, and 23069. Proof of residency and recent bill required at each visit.

ACES is supported by local community groups, churches, schools, and individuals, and has received multiple awards for outstanding service and volunteerism.
