Overview
Heritage Center Food Pantry is a registered partner of the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank (BRAFB) and an affiliate of Feeding America. The pantry is dedicated to reducing the risk of hunger for residents in Nelson County and surrounding areas, including Louisa County. Services are open to anyone in need, with a special emphasis on young children, seniors with limited income, and single parents.
Services Provided
- Monthly Food Distribution: Fresh fruits and vegetables, canned and non-perishable items, meats, frozen foods, dairy products, breads, and bakery goods.
- Special Dietary Needs: Some low-sodium items are available for those with dietary restrictions.
- Welcoming Environment: All-volunteer staff provides personal, respectful service to every client.
- Eligibility: Minimal requirements; USDA food has income limitations, but other food is available to all.
