About This Service
Mission: St. Thomas Aquinas University Parish, served by the Dominican Friars, is dedicated to bearing witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, celebrating the Sacraments, fostering spiritual and intellectual growth, and serving the students, faculty, staff, and greater University of Virginia community.
Services and Programs:
- Sacramental Ministry: Offers Baptism, Mass, Confessions, Confirmation, Marriage preparation, Anointing of the Sick, and Funeral services.
- Faith Formation: Provides religious education for children and adults, youth ministry, sacramental preparation, and spiritual resources.
- Community Engagement: Hosts social events, liturgical ministries, music programs, and groups such as Knights of Columbus, Dominican Laity, and Frassati for young adults.
- Mercy and Justice Initiatives: Engages in outreach and support for those in need within the broader community.
- Support for Families and Students: Special focus on serving the University of Virginia population, but also welcomes and serves the wider Charlottesville and regional community, including residents of Louisa County and surrounding areas.
The parish is a welcoming space for spiritual growth, community service, and intellectual engagement, open to all seeking support or involvement.
