Fluvanna Leaders for Race & Diversity (FLRD)

Mission:

Fluvanna Leaders for Race & Diversity (FLRD) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2020 in Fluvanna County, Virginia. The organization is dedicated to promoting racial, economic, and educational equity, with a focus on addressing and reducing inequities affecting people of color in the community. FLRD serves as a community action platform, investigating various forms of racism and collaborating with local leaders to advocate for positive change.

Services:

• Community Food Pantry: FLRD operates a Community Food Bank in Fork Union, Virginia, providing food assistance to individuals and families in need. The pantry follows a guest choice model, allowing clients to select food items that best suit their needs.
• Advocacy & Education: The organization works to raise awareness and foster dialogue around issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion in Fluvanna County.
• Partnerships: FLRD partners with the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and other community organizations to ensure food security for all residents.
