Overview

The Virginia Rural Health Association (VRHA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the 2.5 million residents of rural Virginia, including Louisa County. VRHA works to address the unique health care challenges faced by rural communities through a variety of programs and initiatives.

Services & Programs

• Education: Hosts annual conferences and events to provide tools and resources for rural health professionals and community members.
• Information: Publishes the Weekly Update e-newsletter and produces The Rural Health Voice podcast to keep members informed about rural health issues.
• Advocacy: Engages with local, state, and federal officials to influence policies affecting rural health care quality.
• Specialized Programs: Offers initiatives such as Mental Health First Aid, Substance Use Disorders support, Rural Health Clinic Coalition, and the Pride of Rural Virginia program.
