Mission: To create a more humane and responsible community by eliminating animal suffering while increasing human compassion.
Vision: To connect people and pets, create lasting adoptions, provide quality veterinary care, and inspire compassionate action through education and awareness. The organization partners with the community to end animal homelessness.
Services:
- Shelter and care for approximately 2,600 homeless animals annually
- Adoption programs including vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neuter, and training classes for puppies
- Foster network caring for animals too young, recovering, or needing a break from the shelter
- Adoption partnerships with PetSmart
- Low-cost veterinary services via the VBSPCA Clinic and mobile Neuter Scooter
- Humane education programs for children, including in-person and virtual activities
- Pet Pantry providing food to qualifying pet owners
- Miracle Medical Fund for specialized medical treatments
- Disaster response and rescue operations
The organization is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, welcoming all community members to participate in ending animal homelessness.
