About This Service
Mission: To empower individuals with disabilities through advocacy, independent living skills, and community resources.
Services:
- Advocacy – Assistance in gaining equal access to services that individuals with disabilities are entitled to receive.
- Peer Counseling – Counseling for persons with disabilities by persons with disabilities.
- Independent Living Skills Training – Assistance in obtaining skills needed for independent living, such as financial management, social skills, and household management.
- Information and Referral – Providing information about assistive devices, recreation, accessibility, legislation, and other disability-related issues, along with referrals to local service providers.
- Transition Services – Supporting students with disabilities transitioning from school to work or post-graduate opportunities, and helping individuals transitioning out of institutions back into the community.

Support for our services is received from local and state sources, as well as donations from businesses and individuals in the service area.
Service Area:
Franklin, Henry, Patrick, Pittsylvania counties, and the independent cities of Martinsville and Danville.
Governance:
The organization is governed by a Board of Directors with a majority of members having disabilities.
Hours of Operation
Monday – Friday, 8:15 am – 4:30 pm
