About This Service
Mission: The Virginia Association of Area Agencies on Aging (V4A) maximizes the capacity of member agencies to enhance the quality of life for all Virginians by enriching the lives of older adults, individuals with disabilities, caregivers and communities in need of supports and services.
Services and Functions:
- Acts as a network of 25 local area agencies on aging across Virginia
- Advocates for resources and policies that help provide choices for older adults
- Operates the statewide Senior Medicare Patrol program to prevent healthcare fraud
- Provides training and education activities for aging service professionals
- Connects seniors and caregivers with local support services
V4A serves as a vital link between national and state organizations and local Area Agencies on Aging, working to develop comprehensive systems of home and community-based services for older Virginians. Louisa County residents can access services through their local Area Agency on Aging.
