Mission: Mental Health America of Fredericksburg (MHAfred) is dedicated to addressing the behavioral health and substance use needs of diverse communities across the Fredericksburg region, including Louisa County, VA.

Services:

  • MHAfred HELPLINE: A free, confidential helpline providing information, referrals, and support for mental health and substance use concerns.
  • Support Groups: No-cost recovery support groups offering a safe environment for individuals to share experiences and receive peer support.
  • Suicide Prevention: Education programs and a dedicated Suicide Prevention Fund to raise awareness and provide resources.
  • Senior Visitors Program: Volunteer-based support for isolated seniors to reduce loneliness and improve mental well-being.
  • Youth Services: Initiatives such as youth mental health conferences and therapy support for teens, funded by community partners.
  • Resource Directory: Comprehensive listings of local mental health providers and services, accessible to all residents in the service area.
