Mental Health America of Fredericksburg (MHAfred)

Mission: Mental Health America of Fredericksburg (MHAfred) is dedicated to addressing the behavioral health and substance use needs of diverse communities across the Fredericksburg region, including Louisa County, VA.

Services:

• MHAfred HELPLINE: A free, confidential helpline providing information, referrals, and support for mental health and substance use concerns.
• Support Groups: No-cost recovery support groups offering a safe environment for individuals to share experiences and receive peer support.
• Suicide Prevention: Education programs and a dedicated Suicide Prevention Fund to raise awareness and provide resources.
• Senior Visitors Program: Volunteer-based support for isolated seniors to reduce loneliness and improve mental well-being.
• Youth Services: Initiatives such as youth mental health conferences and therapy support for teens, funded by community partners.
• Resource Directory: Comprehensive listings of local mental health providers and services, accessible to all residents in the service area.

MHAfred works to identify gaps in local services and creates unique programs and partnerships to address community needs. All services are available to residents of Louisa County and the broader Fredericksburg region.
