Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) is a member-owned electric utility serving a broad region of Virginia, including Louisa County residents. REC is dedicated to providing reliable, affordable, and safe electric service to homes and businesses.
Services:
- Electric Service: Start, stop, or transfer electric service for residential and business customers.
- Outage Management: 24/7 outage reporting, outage maps, and text alerts to keep members informed during power interruptions.
- Energy Solutions: Programs for energy efficiency, solar options, electric vehicle charging, and summer savings plans.
- Vegetation Management: Regular maintenance to ensure reliability and safety of power lines.
- Community Engagement: Scholarships, youth programs, community events, and charitable initiatives through CARE Charity, Inc.
Residents of Louisa County are eligible for REC services if they are within the cooperative's service area. REC also offers resources for safety, economic development, and broadband partnerships.

Office Hours: 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday (except holidays); Telephone Hours: 7 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday-Friday; Outage Reporting: 24/7
