About This Service

Mission: The Virginia Adult Learning Resource Center (VALRC) at Virginia Commonwealth University supports adult education and literacy across the Commonwealth, including Louisa County.

What VALRC Does:

  • Resource Collection & Dissemination: Gathers and shares targeted resources to improve adult education practices statewide.
  • Professional Development: Offers webinars, virtual events, online courses (both facilitated and self-paced), and face-to-face training for adult educators and program managers.
  • Networking & Support: Connects educators and programs to strengthen adult education’s role in workforce development.
  • Publications & Tools: Publishes guides, teaching tools, and management resources for adult education providers.
  • Events: Hosts regular meetings, leadership events, and professional learning communities for ongoing educator support.

VALRC’s services are available to adult education providers, instructors, and program managers throughout Virginia, including those serving Louisa County residents. Contact VALRC for access to resources, training, and support for adult literacy and workforce preparation.
