About Richmond Animal League (RAL)

Richmond Animal League (RAL) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving the lives of animals and finding loving homes for pets since 1979. RAL works with over 50 municipal shelters and rescue partners, including those serving Louisa County, to provide temporary housing, medical treatment, vaccinations, and adoption services for pets in need.

Services:

• Loving Spay & Neuter Clinic: Offers low-cost and sometimes free spay/neuter surgeries for dogs and cats, serving both private pet owners and rescue organizations. Families on fixed or low incomes may qualify for free services.
• Adoption Center: Facilitates pet adoptions, working with foster homes and shelter partners to place animals in permanent homes.
• Pet Pantry: Provides pet food and supplies to families in need (see website for details).
• Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR): Supports community (feral) cat caretakers with affordable services.
• Resources: Offers information and referrals for lost/found pets, rehoming, and animal welfare support.

Residents of Louisa County and surrounding areas are eligible for spay/neuter services and may adopt pets through RAL. Appointments are required for clinic services.
