Mission: The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) works to create strong, sustainable, inclusive communities and quality affordable homes for all. HUD administers federal programs designed to help individuals and families access safe and affordable housing, prevent homelessness, and support community development.
Services for Louisa County Residents:
- Public Housing & Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8): Assistance for low-income families, seniors, and people with disabilities to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing.
- HUD-Approved Housing Counseling: Guidance on home buying, foreclosure prevention, rental assistance, and financial literacy.
- Fair Housing Enforcement: Protection against housing discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, or disability.
