Mission: Empowering and equipping families across Virginia to homeschool with confidence and success.
Who They Serve
HEAV serves all Virginia families interested in homeschooling, including those in Louisa County. Their resources are accessible statewide, regardless of county of residence.

- Comprehensive Homeschool Guidance: Step-by-step help for starting, maintaining, and excelling in home education, including legal compliance and curriculum selection.
- Special Needs & Gifted Support: Resources and advice for families with special needs or gifted learners.
- Mentorship & Community: Access to local support groups, sports leagues, and a high school mentor program.
- Events & Conferences: Annual conventions, field trips, graduation ceremonies, and leadership conferences.
- Legal & Legislative Updates: Information on Virginia homeschool law, advocacy, and updates affecting homeschoolers.
- Testing & Evaluation: Guidance on standardized testing, assessments, and finding evaluators or tutors.
- Publications & Resources: Free magazine, e-newsletter, articles, and curriculum recommendations.
