Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS)

Mission: The Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) administers Medicaid and the Family Access to Medical Insurance Security (FAMIS) programs for the Commonwealth of Virginia, including Louisa County residents.

Services:

• Medicaid Enrollment & Eligibility: Assists eligible individuals and families in applying for and maintaining Medicaid health coverage.
• Cardinal Care: Provides managed care options for Medicaid members, including medical, behavioral health, and long-term services.
• Member Support: Offers resources for renewing coverage, reporting changes, and finding healthcare providers.
• Provider Services: Supports healthcare providers with enrollment, billing, and program updates.
• Fraud and Abuse Reporting: Encourages the public to report suspected Medicaid fraud or abuse.
• Public Information: Ensures transparency through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and provides data on Medicaid enrollment and services by legislative district.
