About the Organization
The English Empowerment Center (formerly Literacy Council of Northern Virginia) is dedicated to providing accessible English language instruction to adults across Northern Virginia. Their mission is to help adult learners break barriers and achieve their fullest potential through improved English literacy. The Center serves a diverse population, welcoming learners from many different countries and backgrounds.
Services Offered
- Beginning-level English classes at multiple locations throughout Northern Virginia
- Workforce English programs (Destination Workforce®) to help adults succeed in the workplace
- Volunteer opportunities for community members to support learners inside and outside the classroom
- Open-enrollment classes to ensure broad accessibility
The Center's programs are open to all adults in the region, including residents of Louisa County, VA, who can access their virtual or in-person offerings.
