About This Service
Mission: The Piedmont Workforce Development Board provides leadership and strategic direction on workforce issues across the Virginia Career Works – Piedmont Region, which includes Louisa County.
Who They Serve:
- Residents and employers in Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange, Rappahannock, Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Nelson counties, and the city of Charlottesville.
Services:
- Identifies local workforce needs and develops strategies to address them
- Connects job seekers with employment and training opportunities
- Collaborates with businesses, educational institutions, economic development agencies, labor organizations, and community-based partners
- Oversees Career Centers that provide job search assistance, resume building, career counseling, and skills training
The Board is comprised of public and private sector members, ensuring a comprehensive approach to workforce development. Louisa County residents can access all services provided by the Board and its partners.
