About BRACH
The Blue Ridge Area Coalition for the Homeless (BRACH) is the lead Continuum of Care (CoC) agency for the region, including Louisa County, VA. Founded in 1998, BRACH collaborates with dozens of local service providers and community partners to coordinate and fund efforts to alleviate and ultimately end homelessness.
Services & Programs
- Strategic Planning: Implements a multi-year Community Plan to End Homelessness, guiding a broad system of care.
- Funding: Distributes resources to service providers across the region to support those facing housing insecurity.
- Data & Coordination: Manages a Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) to track, coordinate, and improve services.
- Community Engagement: Organizes annual Point-in-Time counts and offers volunteer opportunities.
- Advocacy & Education: Provides information, resources, and policy guidance to the public and stakeholders.
BRACH serves individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness, working to ensure everyone has access to safe, stable housing. Residents of Louisa County are included in their service area.
