About This Service
Mission: The ConnerStrong Foundation works to bring awareness to mental health issues and suicide prevention, especially among teens and young adults. They aim to change the discussion around mental health and provide outreach and comfort to families and communities affected by mental health and suicide.
Programs:
- Sources of Strength: School initiatives that educate and protect youth, providing resources to those around them.
- GMU Center for Psychological Services Partnership: Collaborative efforts to support mental health.
- Survivor Outreach Programs: Providing hope, comfort, education, and support to the community.
Warning Signs of Suicide:
- Talking about wanting to die or kill oneself
- Talking or writing about suicide or death
- Showing rage or talking about seeking revenge
- Talking about feeling hopeless or having no reason to live
- Talking about being a burden to others
- Displaying extreme mood swings and acting recklessly
- Looking for ways to kill oneself
- Talking about being trapped or in unbearable pain
- Complete withdrawal
- Giving away prized possessions
