Louisa Reentry Council

Mission: The Louisa Reentry Council operates under the Virginia Community Reentry approach, which strengthens public safety through community-based reentry programs that provide opportunities for adults and juveniles previously incarcerated, supporting families and reducing recidivism.

Services Provided:

The Louisa Reentry Council assists and motivates individuals in making a positive step forward by addressing multiple critical areas:

• Food assistance - Helping with nutritional needs during transition
• Employment services - Job placement and career support
• Transportation - Assistance with getting to work and appointments
• Substance abuse/mental health services - Treatment and counseling support
• Family reintegration - Helping rebuild family relationships
• Family services - Comprehensive family support programs
• Benefits assistance - Help accessing government and community benefits
• Clothing - Providing appropriate attire for interviews and work
• Housing - Assistance finding stable housing arrangements
• Transitioning support - Comprehensive help moving from incarceration to community life
• Medical Insurance - Help obtaining healthcare coverage

Program Details:

Participation in the Louisa Reentry Council program is completely voluntary. Individuals interested in services must call for screening and an appointment. The organization provides referrals for services based on individual need and available funding.
